Dyuthi Jahagirdar and Snigdha Jahagirdar, both are students of Engineering. They’ve been learning Hindustani classical music from 15 years. They’re also learning Gamaka, a unique form of Carnatic Music. Both forms of music have always been an indispensable part of their lives.
From a very young age, Dyuthi and Snigdha were exposed to classical music, mainly because of their parents who are ardent listeners of classical music. They started learning Hindustani classical music Shri PR Manjunath in Gwalior Gharana for 6 years and from Smt. Bharathi Prathap, a disciple of Hindustani exponent Lalith J Rao, in Agra Gharana for a year. Currently, they’re being trained under the guidance of Shri Omkarnath Havaldar.
They’ve been learning Gamaka from 13 years, under the guidance of Smt CV Srimathi, a disciple of Shri Hosahalli KeshavMurthy. They consider themselves fortuitous to have found gurus who have been extremely indulgent, systematic and, prolific in guiding her.
