Besides having won many prestigious awards and accolades, Buddhadev has also been awarded the Gold Medal in the most remarkable Sangeet Praveen. He started his flute training under Late Prof. Deboprasad Banerjee ,Rabindra Bharati University , "Who was the milestone of Pannalal Ghosh style of flute playing in eastern India." For the last two decades he is the most devoted Disciple of Pt.Samaresh Choudhury,the famous vocalist of Pt.Ravi Shankar style.
Coming from Rampur Sheni Gharana Buddhadev's speciality is on the gyaaki aang , unparalleled tonal production & own creation in flute playing is a rare treasure trove of classical music in flute. He has also achieved "SANGEET PRAVEEN " title from Prayag Sangit Samiti in 1980. He was awarded with gold medal in the process of enriching traditional classical music.
He has been running a cultural centre affiliated under PRACHEN KALA KENDRA for 20 years.
